On the subject of me...
Breathing since '82, designing since '02, bad-ass standardista, caffeine addict, pixel lover.
I am Recep!
I design & develop beautiful & usable interfaces. Sometimes, I even dare to create corporate identities & custom icons. Other times, I rant about stuff that very few people give a damn and call it an "article".
Interfaces that I design come to life by creating seo friendly, meaningful, semantic html files and clean css files that shape the interface with respect to standards. I may also spice them up with the right amount of jQuery goodness.
I run my operations behind a pc (damn, I really want to line-through that statement and replace it with a “mac”), using Adobe Creative Suite products. I aim to impress my (your) audience through innovation, by the aid of “element of surprise” and conventions. Even though I hate to admit it, I depend on caffeine for my creative process.
Currently, I live in Ankara.
Since I had this passion for creating something on the interwebs, I decided to study Information Technologies at Eastern Mediterranean University. However, when I graduated in 2007, I just found out that I had learned nothing about the profession I wanted to have. So, when I sought the knowledge that suits the job, Jeffrey Zeldman was one click away. Eric Meyer was right next to him. During my “online education”, I was introduced to Dave Shea, Andy Clarke, Dan Cederholm, Paul Boag, Veerle Pieters and many more other respected, great “teachers”. Even though I haven't met any of them in person, I owe them a lot. This site is not only a tribute for each one of them, but also my way of thanking them with the little hope that I might enlight someone by my articles, as they enlightened me.
In my very little spare time, I like playing old adventure games, composing cacophonous tunes on Audiotool till I hate and delete all of them, designing isometric pixel-art game mock-ups because it is way much cooler than collecting stamps. I know what you are thinking and you are most probably right: I really had better get a life.
